Philip Kingsley opened his Trichology clinic twenty years ago. For the past ten years, he has sold a range of treatment products from his London and New York clinics. We were approached to re-brand and package their entire range of 35 products, with the aim of establishing the brand in outlets outside their clinics.
The logo consists of a specially drawn typeface which incorporates a K made from lines that resemble hair. All type on the packaging hangs vertically from the top of both boxes and bottles, so that it wraps round like fringing. The design was kept simple and clean and easily navigable, as the existing client base ranges from very young to elderly people.
Colour coding helps to define product grouping and also correlates to colours used in the original packaging to avoid confusion,although we selected a new set of colours within each colour palette to make the range fresher.
Our design concept included boxing the bottles to give the range more shelf presence and to allow for a larger surface area to hold the product information. The boxes are constructed from a stock with a sparkly finish, evocative of the clean, shiny appearance of healthy hair.
